Perpetual Investments Completes Senior Leadership Roster

Perpetual Limited, the Australian investment management firm, has hired a former BNP Paribas executive to lead its investments arm.

Michael Gordon takes the role of group executive of Perpetual Investments in January 2013, responsible for growing the product, distribution, operations and investment management team. 

He was previously the chief investment officer for equities at BNP Paribas Investment Partners and prior to that held several senior positions at Fidelity Investments International. 

Current head Richard Brandweiner continues on his post until Gordon formally takes office, after which both gentlemen will be working together to develop strategies for the business.

The appointment comes as the firm is looking to expand its coverage of the Australian market, led by chief executive Geoff Lloyd who has been handpicking members of the company's leadership team in the past months.

Gordon joins a strong team composed of Chris Green as group executive for corporate trust, Roger Burrows as chief financial officer, Rebecca Nash as group executive or people and culture, Gillian Larkins as group executive for executive transformation and Mark Smith as group executive for Perpetual Private.
